Several enquiries throughout the year come from clients with Howdens kitchens. Can they be painted? Is it worth it or should I replace it?

Just a couple of questions that are often asked. In this short blog, you will see the before and after shots of what can be achieved. Kitchen cabinet painter Woburn Bedfordshire

Another part of this project was the re finishing of the worktops. If not maintained consequently they can start to look quite tired. Re sanding and oiling using the right products can in addition transform a worktop.

Below are a few images of the kitchen and worktops before work was carried out.

The kitchens was in good condition, it just required a few alignments and a drawer to be re set as it did not close properly. The doors and drawers were removed and completed in my workshop. Another great asset giving minimal disruption during the work.

Dustless sanding

The site work was really helped by the dustless sanding system that I use. The existing layers on the worktop were removed and the cabinet frames were cleaned and keyed ready for primer. As with every project the first layer of paint is an adhesion primer.

The colour for this particular project was a colour similar to Farrow and Balls Stiffkey Blue. This was mixed in Tikkurila furniture paint (Intact 8). A beautiful hardwaring product that will stand the rigours of most working kitchens.

The images show the completed work.

The island top was also re finished as it had become very sticky and difficult to keep clean.

Overall a fantastic transformation of this once tired looking kitchen.

What I need!

  1. To be able to see each individual run of cabinets so I can count up the doors and drawers.
  2. A perspective shot so I can see the whole kitchen if possible.
